AUGUST UPDATE: Covid 19 Business S.O.S.

A Big thanks to the DALLAS MORNING NEWS(Natalie Walters, Vernon Bryant),  NBC 5 NEWS(Noelle Walker, Dr. & Mrs. Hawkins) as well as CHANNEL 8 NEWS(Chris Sadeghi) for sharing our story and to all who have supported us through this horrible Coronavirus Pandemic. We still need your help.

Our Sympathy and Prayers go out to those who have lost loved ones or who are currently struggling with Covid 19(our staff included).

Currently, our future looks bleak, but as owner, I remain committed to battle through, as wave after wave of bad news surges through the nation and crashes around us. We are dependent on the patronage of loyal customers and strangers, who will become new customers, to carry us through these tough times. Eventually, Dallas & the North Texas Area, will get back to its usual Costume Parties & Themed Events. With continued community support, and our determination, we’ll still be around to serve the gregarious & generous people of the Dallas, Ft.Worth Metroplex.

It will be a long time before DALLAS VINTAGE SHOP can make a profit, or actually start to breaks even, because Costume Events, Themed Galas & Conventions are virtually shut down and they might be for a long time to come. We fluctuate from 10% to 20% of our regular business income from week to week. The PAYROLL PROTECTION PROGRAM money ran out long ago. Now, we are relying on selling our fashionable Face Masks to sustain us. Thankfully, so far, no employees have missed a paycheck, even though we are operating in the red. We are asking everyone who loves costumes & vintage attire to share this S.O.S. ‘Save Our Shop’ Message.

If you can’t use a costume right now, please consider purchasing Face Coverings or Face Mask Accessories that we have caringly designed, hand assembled and sewn in  our shop. These delightful, hand crafted items make great gifts when presented to those who need encouragement. We also have Child Face Masks.

Gratefully yours,

Jerry Purvis
