Victorian Style
Elaborate hats covered with any combination of fabric lace, feathers, flowers, ribbons and/or bows. Clothes for men were becoming plainer. In the earlier half of the century trousers instead of knee breeches except for sporting events were worn with tailcoats. Later the knee length, full-skirted frock coats were worn. Late in the century sack coats appeared and is the style worn until today. Various caps, bowlers, high silk hats and straw hats were worn depending on the occasion.
